Interview Q&A
Q: A child falls while you are alone with them (parents at work). They have a small cut on the knee — what do you do, step by step?
A: 1st i'll confort the child to calm them down. Second i will clean the wound and then put a band-aid on the cut. Thirdly i'll check if the kid has any other injuries and lastly i will send a brief text message to inform the parent the kid had a small accident and assure them the kid is okay.
Q: A stranger at the gate says they are close friends with your employer and need to wait inside, but nobody warned you — what do you do?
A: I'll tell the person to call my employer and announce their arrival and I will also call my employer and notify them about the visitor and wait for my employer's directives.
Q: How do you store leftover cooked food (such as stew or soup) in the fridge safely?
A: Transfer into a clean Tupperware, cover it and store in the fridge.
Q: Your employer asks you to do something you were never trained for (e.g. bathing a newborn the first time) — how do you respond?
A: First I'll turn off the fire and calm the child down. The food can wait, the child's wellbeing is more important.
Q: You are alone with a baby — food starts burning while the infant is crying loudly. What do you do first and why?
A: I'll request her to train me how its done at first and do it several times under her supervision untill she is satisfied.
