Interview Q&A

Q: How do you handle a white shirt with a coloured stain?
A: First I check the fabric label. I rinse the stain with cold water immediately, then apply a stain remover or mild bleach that is safe for whites. I let it sit, then wash separately in warm water to avoid spreading the color.
Q: What is the safest way to clean a large glass window in strong sun?
A: I avoid cleaning in direct strong sun because it causes streaks. I use a squeegee, microfiber cloth, and glass cleaner. I work in sections from top to bottom and use a stable ladder with someone spotting for safety.
Q: If you run out of toilet cleaner, is it safe to mix bleach and vinegar?
A: No, it is not safe. Mixing bleach and vinegar creates toxic chlorine gas that is very dangerous to breathe. I would use dish soap and hot water instead, then buy proper cleaner later.
Q: How do you pick a safe heat setting when ironing clothing with no care label?
A: I start with the lowest heat setting and test on an inside seam. If it needs more heat, I increase gradually. I use a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric to prevent burning or shine.
Q: If you accidentally break a household item while cleaning, when do you tell the employer?
A: I tell the employer immediately and honestly. I explain what happened, take responsibility, and suggest how to fix or replace the item. Honesty builds trust.
