Interview Q&A

Q: A child falls while you are alone with them (parents at work). They have a small cut on the knee — what do you do, step by step?
A: I will stay calm and check on the child, stop bleeding, clean the cut, apply spirit or petroleum jelly and lastly call the parents
Q: A stranger at the gate says they are close friends with your employer and need to wait inside, but nobody warned you — what do you do?
A: Be polite but firm and tell them that i need to check with the employer. Ask for their ID or a name and call the employer for verification. I will only let them in if the employer says yes.
Q: How do you store leftover cooked food (such as stew or soup) in the fridge safely?
A: Let it cool first, put it in clean airtight containers and then put it in the fridge
Q: Your employer asks you to do something you were never trained for (e.g. bathing a newborn the first time) — how do you respond?
A: I will show willingness and ask for training or demonstration and if am still unsure i will ask for more training
Q: You are alone with a baby — food starts burning while the infant is crying loudly. What do you do first and why?
A: Baby first, check the baby if they are hurt because you cannot leave the baby alone crying. Food can burn but a baby left unattended can hurt or roll, choke in seconds
Q: If you accidentally break a plate during work, when do you tell the employer?
A: Tell them right away as soon as it happens as honesty builds trust
